Kristine nervous about reunion with Echo

Actress Kristine Hermosa admits that she is as equally excited as she is nervous about her upcoming reunion with former on-and-off screen partner Jericho Rosales in a special episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Super excited ako, pero syempre at the same time, kinakabahan kasi after how many years ngayon ko lang ulit makakasama si Echo,” Kristine reveals.

Their last show together was five years ago in the phenomenally successful Sana’y Wala nang Wakas. After the series ended, Kristine and Echo worked separate projects where they were paired up with other stars. Kristine further reveals that they never really got the chance to talk after that. They would meet during social functions, but their conversations were limited to exchanges of “hellos.”

The actress says that so many things have changed that it will seem as if this will be the first time they’ll be working together. “Pero sana the same Echo pa rin yung makita ko,” she says.

TV Ratings: Dyesebel pulls away from rivals

Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita inched a bit closer to scare primetime leader Dyesebel last Friday, May 30. Gathering a rating of 34.5 percent against Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes's 36.1 percent, the tandem of Yasmien Kurdi and JC de Vera almost pulled off a surprise in the Mega Manila contest.

Robin Padilla's Joaquin Bordado likewise figured strongly as shown by its 34.2 percent grade followed by GMA-7's news program 24 Oras, which collared a rating of 29.5 percent.

The Kapuso Network safely secured the Top 5 slots with Pinoy Idol sealing the deal and temporarily keeping ABS-CBN's resilient My Girl at bay. Pinoy Idol scored one of its highest ratings, 23.3 percent, good enough for No. 5.

Despite dropping to No. 6, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson's show proved that its previous strong showing was no flash in the pan. Buoyed up considerably by its 22.8 percent rating, My Girl even edged out fellow ABS-CBN contender Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus albeit by a slim margin.

In the daytime race, afternoon drama series summoned its collective grit to push the noontime shows away from the top. Daisy Siete, Kaputol ng Isang Awit, and Magdusa Ka all figured in a tight battle for daytime supremacy with the Sexbomb Dancers emerging as the top winner.

The country's longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! occupied the fourth spot with a 20.4 percent rating while Willie Revillame's Wowowee wrestled the No. 6 position via its 16.9 percent rating.

Eat Bulaga, however, redeemed itself the next day, May 31, Saturday, as the trio of Tito, Vic, and Joey regained control of the weekend race by registering a 21.7 percent rating versus Wowowee's 17.2. StarTalk, on the other hand, once again took the fight out of rival Entertainment Live with a commanding 15 percent rating against the latter's 7.9 percent.

Saturday primetime belongs to Jessica Soho as her Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho bested Mike Enriquez's Imbestigador to take the No. 1 spot overall. Weekend contender Bitoy's Funniest Videos came in at third with 30.3 percent rating to boot followed by ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, which amassed a total of 20.8 percent.

SOP once again ruled Sunday's daytime race with 16.4 percent versus ASAP '08's 13.4 percent, which is good for No. 3. The second slot was taken by Takeshi's Castle with 14.1 percent.

The new season of Your Song, featuring Angelica Panganiban, TJ Trinidad, Wendy Valdez, and Zanjoe Marudo, grabbed fourth place with 12.9 percent; followed by Kay Susan Tayo and Pinoy Idol Extra.

The first part of the month-long first anniversary of Showbiz Central beat the first part of the month-long ninth anniversary of The Buzz, 10.4 percent against 9.7 percent.

The primetime race belonged to Mel & Joey, which posted a rating of 23.8 percent. It was followed by Ful Haus (23.2 percent), All Star K (22.8 percent), Pinoy Idol (22.1 percent), and Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus (22 percent).

Yesterday, June 2, saw Dyesebel once again swimming its way to a comfortable lead against the competition. Perhaps shaken by Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita's brave stand last week, the legendary Filipino mermaid regained it composure to take an imposing 41 percent rating.

The heavy drama show appeared to have lost steam a bit as they slipped to No. 3 with a 30.6 percent tally behind the resurging Joaquin Bordado, which registered 36.8 percent.

Four ABS-CBN shows notched the fifth to eight spots. Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus gained momentum, securing the fifth slot via its 27 percent rating. My Girl followed with 22.8 percent while The Singing Bee and TV Patrol World scored 22.6 and 18.1 percent, respectively.

Anne Curtis’s sizzling photo shoot

Anne Curtis looked downright sexy during the pictorial for the teleseryeDyosa, where she wore three costumes representing her character’s different personas. The actress stressed, however, that the sexiness ends with the costumes and that Dyosa’s storyline is very wholesome. "It’s like wearing a swimsuit except that it’s more covered than a swimsuit. It’s sexy in that way but the story is really pambata."

It took hours for Anne and some of her cast mates to put on their costumes. Epi Quizon and Carlos Morales, who both play "goat people," had their costumes, prosthetics, and makeup done in a span of three Caregiverhours. Anne’s leading men-- Zanjoe Marudo, Luis Manzano, and Sam Milby--have yet to reveal their costumes for the show. Other stars present at the pictorial were Lloyd Samartino, Matt Mendoza, and Jaclyn Jose.

Anne was all smiles at the mention of Sam’s name. At a recent press conference, Sam mentioned that Anne is the only woman whom he is interested in and wants to be with. This statement flattered the actress to no end. "Wow! Really now… Talaga? That’s flattering. Wow," a flustered Anne said.

Pauleen Luna: Boyfriend not behind decision not to pose for sexy magazines

If ever may decision man na gano'n, it's my own decision and my parents' decision, not his," pahayag ni Pauleen nang makausap siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noong Lunes ng hapon, May 26, sa contract signing niya bilang bagong celebrity endorser ng Mendez Medical Group ni Dr. Joel Mendez.

Patuloy niya, "Yeah, there are offers, pero si Sherwin is very understanding. Siya, anything goes, e. He tells me, ‘As long as you decide on it and you say yes, I trust you. I know naman you have a very good sense of judgment with everything that you do. That's fine with me.'"

"But since nga it's my own decision not to do it yet, so ganun na lang muna," pahabol ni Pauleen.

Ayon sa 19-year-old young actress, hindi niya sinasabing never siyang magpu-pose sa FHM, pero sa ngayon ay wala pa siyang balak gawin ito.

"You know, the only thing in this world that's permanent is change.

"Well, no naman. I think if ever, it will be a career move. Let's see. But as of now, wala pa talagang balak."

STAGE BOYFRIEND? Hinihigpitan ba siya ni Sherwin? Totoo bang isa itong stage boyfriend?

"No, he's the opposite of mahigpit.

Sherwin doesn't have anything to do with my career. He's the opposite of pakialamero. Wala siyang binabawal sa akin. Para sa kanya, ‘It's up to you.'

"Well, ano lang siguro...they're happy to have me with them. Kasi, kami [ng family ni Sherwin], every Sunday, we have dinner together, we bond... So, siguro ganun lang. Actually, they're excited.

If we talk about it, in a jokingly manner lang. Not really serious. Kasi, it's too soon, e. One year pa lang kami.

"If it's too big, you have to think about it. Kasi, you know...you have to think about it!" tawa ulit ni Pauleen.

RIFT WITH LIAN.

"Sa aming dalawa, but it's finished," maikli niyang tugon.

May lalaki bang involved?

"Wala, walang guy involved. Hindi gano'n!"

E, ano'ng nangyari?

"Nagkaroon lang ng very little misunderstanding, na may nagsabi sa kanya na sabi ko raw gano'n, which I never said. So, she got a little mad and then we talked. So, okey na..."

Kasi, that happened before Eat Bulaga went to Dubai. And then, we went to Dubai together, so okey na yung relationship namin," paliwanag ni Pauleen. - Philippine Entertainment Portal

Star Magic defends Claudine Barretto and Kristine Hermosa

Star Magic defends two of its biggest stars—Claudine Barretto and Kristine Hermosa—from wrongful accusations by two controversial press people, Alfie Lorenzo and Dolly Ann Carvajal.

Dolly Ann wrote in her column in the Philippine Daily Inquirer that Kristine Hermosa had an attitude problem, which made things difficult for Prinsesa ng Banyera director Andoy Ranay. Star Magic management commented, saying that the writer’s stories are very one-sided making it very biased. It also pointed out that Dolly Ann’s articles obviously did not give Kristine the chance to air her side. "Kristine has been a difficult actress in the past because of her youth and inexperience. She has always been a reluctant actress and star. But in recent times she has shown a certain maturity born out of TheBuzzexperience and wisdom and she has exerted professionalism to a high degree," said Star Magic in defense of its ward.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm also chastised talent manager and entertainment writer Alfie Lorenzo, who accused Claudine Barretto of riding on his alaga, Judy Ann Santos’s popularity in making a showbiz come back. "Naiinis ako kasi they’re trying to find a way para gumawa ng ingay yung pagbabalik ni Claudine. Ang kinaiinis ko lumang style na yun," said the talent manager. Star Magic said that there is no truth to Alfie’s claim, and that Claudine does not need any help from Alfie nor his talent to make a comeback. "ABS-CBN believes that Ms. Claudine Barretto made a name in show biz and has a loyal following because of her popularity and hard work and has no need of any help from Judy Ann Santos and any bitter old men posing as show biz journalist. ABS-CBN has high regard for Claudine as with other artists."

Dingdong defends Marian on video row

But I believe, it also ended there.
